Damon was presented with a Sarasota County award from Mr. China "Dragon" Smith, Two-time National Boxing Association and former Heavy Weight Champion of the World with Mr. Jon Thaxton, Sarasota County Commissioner. For the past several years Damon has spearheaded the cleanup efforts at Turtle Beach where he does his water trainings. He has volunteered much of his time and has had rescue relieve efforts for the wildlife on Turtle Beach. In 2007 Damon's Big Project for the year: Soul Strength Productions, DrSporty talked The American Lung Association in doing a Charity Walk here on Siesta Key Island. Throughout the year he worked with them on almost every detail and the event took place on October 20. Over 200+ people arrived for this great event and over 7 Thousand Dollars was Raised! The Siesta Key Sunset Stroll was a wonderful festival and raised funds for research for The American Lung Association. Thanks to all the sponsors and local vendors who helped make this happen.
